Grammy's visit from Florida

Tom's mom (Grammy) made the trip from sunny Florida to meet her grandson, Cole. We were very excited for her visit and to introduce Cole to her. It also happened to be our first few nights in the new house which worked out nice so Grammy could do some snuggling with Cole while Mommy and Daddy got stuff done! Thanks for coming to visit Grammy! Hope to see you soon! Send some sun up this way!

One month old!!!

Very expressive after his bath!!! Not enjoying the cold!!!

Cole's original due date was October 22nd so it is hard to believe he is already a month old! We are so glad he arrived early though!!! Had his one month check up yesterday and he is now 21 inches long and weighs 7lbs. 11oz. - up a pound and a half from two weeks ago! He's working on becoming a little meatball!!!

The house is almost ready - just some minor things to complete and we should be in by tonight or tomorrow in time for Grammy's visit from Florida! We will post pictures of the house soon once all is settled!

As many of you know - Cole was due to arrive in mid October but obviously he had other plans and made his entrance a few weeks early. Mommy's friend and roommate from college was to be married on October 11th and mommy was supposed to be a bridesmaid. Unfortunately due to Cole's early arrival, Mommy wasn't able to be a bridesmaid but fortunately she was able to make it to the wedding to watch Kristin and Kevin celebrate their big day. It was a gorgeous day for a wedding and we wish Kristin and Kevin a lifetime of love and happiness!!! Cole really enjoyed meeting all of his Northeastern aunties and uncles and was on his best behavior all night!

Many new friends!!!

Since Cole's arrival he has enjoyed meeting many new friends and family members! Thank you for your generosity with gifts, meals, offers to hold Cole while mommy takes a shower, etc. We appreciate all of your help and support and we are enjoying introducing Cole to everyone. Unfortunately given the move, etc. we have not been great about documenting all of Cole's visitors. Here are some pics of the visits we have remembered to capture. We look forward to more visits with all of you!!!

We are really enjoying getting to know Cole. It seems every day he is changing and we are realizing just how quickly time does go by. He continues to be a wonderful baby - very laid back and a good sleeper - so far!

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

We were discharged from the hospital on Tuesday September 22nd. We raced home and dropped Cole off with Auntie Tat who graciously offered to "babysit" while we went and signed the closing papers on the house. An hour later and we were home owners!!!

On Friday and Saturday the 25th and 26th, our amazing friends and family came over to help pack, load the u-haul and provide moral support to us! We cannot thank you all enough for providing meals, holding the baby, packing, unloading, wall paper scraping, painting, etc. Thank you also to our talented friends for their carpentry skills (Adam), spraying and painting(Al), and electrical work (Chris). It really was emotional for Tom and I to see all the wonderful family and friends we have who have come to assist us during this time. It certainly isn't the traditional way to go about things and we were hoping to be in the house before little Cole arrived but he certainly had other plans. This transition to parenthood and home ownership has been an emotional one for us but we are looking forward to settling into our new house in a few weeks.

Big kudos go out to Daddy who has been slaving away at the new house in every spare moment of his time getting it ready for Mommy, Cole, and Zoey to move in. We appreciate all his hard work and are looking forward to spending family time in our new house!

While we are in this transition period, we have been staying at Mima and Papa's house (Katie's mom and stepfather's). Fortunately Cole has been behaving himself while we are here but Zoey is having a tough time adjusting!!! Thank you to Mima and Papa for letting us crash here temporarily!

Tom and I have felt this house was meant to be for many reasons and we are so glad that despite all the obstacles and stress that it finally came to be! We weren't even house hunting when we saw this house - sent to us by my sister-in-law Tatiana. We decided to take a look at it and that day we made an offer. Little did we know that one month later we would be closing on the house and have our baby boy! One of the best perks of our new house is that our new neighbors are my brother and sister-in-law and their three month old son Mason. We are very excited about being neighbors with them and we look forward to watching the boys grow up together!

The arrival of Cole Thomas Noyes!

The plan for Saturday September 19th was LOTS of packing for our move to Rumford the following weekend. We were set to close on our house on Monday September 21st and the U-haul was scheduled to come on the 25th. My mom and Lori came over and packed up what was left to be packed in the apartment. My sister-in-law Tatiana had been over during the week also helping to pack. That evening I suggested to Tom that we take a ride to Home Depot to pick out the paint colors for the new house and then I agreed that we could come home and watch college football ( I must have known things were going to take a different turn!)

While perusing the grills on our way out of Home Depot, I worriedly told Tom I needed to find the closest bathroom because my water had broken (we were standing in the main aisle and I was now holding myself!!!!). As we started to walk back to the bathroom, I changed my mind and decided heading home was a better bet and Tom ran to get the car.

Once we were home, I called the doctor who told me since I was only 35 weeks and my blood pressure was high, that I needed to come in to be checked. Tom and I ate some dinner and hurriedly packed our bags - only Cole's bag had been packed previously! We arrived at the hospital around 10:00 and we were seen in triage where we found out I was 4cm. I was hooked up to the monitors and was having mild contractions at this point. The doctor wasn't convinced that I was in "real" labor but sent me up to L&D to see what happened. As the contractions became more intense and the morphine was not working, the doctor came back and checked me and we found out I was 7cm. At that point, I told the Dr. to hurry up and get the anesthesiologist so I could get the drugs! Once the epidural was in place, it was smooth sailing. After an hour and a half nap, I was woken up and told it was time for Cole's arrival. Tom was an amazing coach and ten minutes of pushing later and Cole Thomas Noyes arrived at 3:47 a.m. at 5lbs. 11oz. and 19 inches long. This certainly was not an easy pregnancy but what we got in the end was worth every minute of swollen body parts, restless sleep, heartburn, carpal tunnel, etc. We fell immediately in love with our little peanut!!!
